PREFACE
An altruistic, freedom fighter, a communist leader who held prime ethics high , MLA , editor , writer ,orator ,Mr.E Gopalarishna Menon was a brave hearted nationalist and benevolent who had laid his footprints in various fields of life .

The role of E Gopalakrishna Menon in the advancement of the people of Kerala to the golden path of secularism along with Communist party is outstanding . He was the stimulant behind the ballad inscribed in red in the soil of Kodungalloor. The victory of E Gopalakrishna Menon in the election of 1949 is a remarkable political event which marked a futuristic era in Indian history. He is the first elected communist MLA following the introduction of adult franchise in general elections. All his speeches made in the assembly were of high standard and they never missed the applause of the opposition party. His debut performance on the 16th March 1951 is historical.

For the communist ministry that came to power after the formation of Kerala state, the debut victory of E. Gopalakrishna Menon in the elections had inspired the party for its democratic entry to the power.
Mr. Menon had an unblemished and eventful political career and as a parliamentarian, writer ,a peerless social worker,and above all a pious communist, his life was an example to others.
